CRESSON—Mount Aloysius sophomore Jalisa Westover (Flinton, PA/Faith Tabernacle H.S.) was named AMCC Co-Player of the Year for softball. Westover led the Lady Mounties to a 22-16 record and fourth place finish in the AMCC final standings. As the team’s starting center fielder, she led the conference in RBI’s (55), ranked second in hits (60) and fourth in batting average (.455). Freshmen Danielle Hart (Furnace, PA/State College H.S.) and Kelsey Ickes (Imler, PA/Claysburg-Kimmel H.S.) also earned all-conference recognition. Hart played left field for the Lady Mounties and garnered second-team all-conference honors. She batted .366 for the year and ranked second in the AMCC in runs. Ickes was a third team all-conference selection as a pitcher. She was 9-5 on the mound with a 4.86 ERA. She led the conference in strikeouts with 110. |
