


| Mount Aloysius College Marks Over 300 Years of Cumulative Service | 11/27/2012 |

Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College honored 310 years of cumulative service at the college’s annual service award dinner held on campus. Mount Aloysius President Tom Foley, together with Director of Human Resources Tonia Gordon awarded 27 Mount Aloysius staff and faculty members for 30, 25, 20, 15, 10 and five years of service to the school. Various department heads and supervisors assisted in marking the years of service given to the school by the celebrated staff and faculty members. Mount Aloysius President Tom Foley noted that 2012-2013 continues as a year in which the college is celebrating the theme of ”Hospitality – Creating Home in a Changing World.” “Your service, long hours, hard work and many years of ministering to the needs of our students has indeed made Mount Aloysius College a home for over 14,000 graduates over these many years,” he said. “We thank you for making this beautiful campus a true home for our students and indeed for all of us.” During the event President Foley also acknowledged over 100 years of cumulative service given to Mount Aloysius by three Sisters of Mercy who now serve the College as volunteers. Noting the contributions of and Sr. Giuseppe DaBella, RSM, Sr. Benedict Joseph, RSM, Sr. Charlene Kelly, RSM and Sr. Eric Marie Setlock, RSM; President Foley noted that all four sisters served the school as faculty and administrators during their active careers at The Mount. That service continues through almost daily volunteer consultation and expertise still available to the school. “Your service goes far beyond the considerable work of your hearts and hands,” said President Foley, addressing the three nuns. “Your very presence forms the heart and soul of Mount Aloysius College.” He added, “Your presence among us serves this campus in ways that can never be measured. You illuminate our journey from a strong, storied past and help lead us into a great future. Thank you for being part of us,” he said. “Because of you, our star shine so much brighter today.” Cited for 30 years of teaching in the Nursing Division was Regina Barr. Rebecca Zukowsky, division chief in the Nursing Division also assisted in presenting Ms. Barr with her citation. Karen Eppley, secretary and Dirk Grafton, assistant professor were both honored for 25 years of service to Mount Aloysius. Cited for 20 years of service to The Mount were Dr. Tom Coakley, professor of English and Secretary Barbara Nagy. Four Mount Aloysius College 15 year awardees included: Harry Etienne, athletic support staff; Assistant Professor and Vox Nova Director Nancy Way; Jeanine Farabaugh, office secretary and Cathy Trexler, administrative assistant. Ten year award recipients were: Shelly Campbell, executive assistant; Dr. Virginia Gonsman, associate professor; Helen Ritchey, teaching assistant; Lance Loya, assistant athletic director and sports information director, Dr. Devorah Bozella, assistant professor, Darlene Slinkosky, secretary and Michelle Ross, secretary. Awarded for five years of service to Mount Aloysius College were: Amanda Minor, department chair of the surgical tech department; Misti Smith, emerging technologies librarian; Sherrie Jackson, assistant controller; Matt Bodenschatz, associate director of admissions; Lauren Coakley, technology training coordinator; Dr. Sara Rutledge, associate professor; Dr. Pat Meintel, assistant professor of Nursing; Tonia Gordon, director of human resources; Carl Teeter, head coach of MAC’s ladies softball; Margaret Bafile, teaching assistant and John Wasicki, security officer. The Mount Aloysius College Annual Service Dinner was held Wednesday, November 14th in the Cosgrave Center on campus.
