About the Program
The Higher Education Equal Opportunity Program (Act 101), established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1971, encourages institutions of higher learning to admit students who show the potential to succeed in college with adequate support (counseling, tutoring, and financial assistance). The goal of Act 101 is to help these institutions provide opportunities for disadvantaged students seeking a college education.
Eligibility
Act 101 participants must be full-time residents of Pennsylvania and must meet certain economic and academic criteria. During a student's admission process to Mount Aloysius College, program staff review economic and academic criteria of all College applicants and send Act 101 program applications to those students who meet state guidelines. Students interested in participating in this program must return applications prior to the application deadline. Space is filled on a first come, first serve basis. Space is available for currently enrolled students who also meet program eligibility requirements.
