Placement Testing

Placement Testing

Mount Aloysius College uses students' SAT scores to assess students' readiness for specific college-level courses. For example, students may begin in Rhetoric I or may be placed in a developmental writing course, EE 98. If a student would like to challenge their course placement, they may complete a placement exam.

Accuplacer is an adaptive, online, and untimed assessment.  It allows us to assess an individual's readiness for college-level curriculum. The placement exam assesses students' reading comprehension, grammar skills, and algebra skills.  Students receiving lower placement scores will be required to enroll in specific Educational Enrichment (EE) courses according to the scores and college course prerequisite policies.
