Ensuring Continued Success
MAAPP does not stop at the end of the freshman year spring semester. We want all students to find continued success in their sophomore year. A student's sophomore year in college can be just as challenging as their freshman year. Often students begin to take more courses within their major or they are still trying to decide what major they want to pursue. This can be a time where students struggle to see how their education fits into the big picture of their lives.
As a result, Mount Aloysius College provides follow up and additional support for students who participated in MAAPP through the Sophomore Year Program. These students receive assistance in the form of:
A summer advising call to ensure the student is on-track for the upcoming fall semester.
A special welcome back dinner and informational meeting during the first two weeks of the fall semesters.
Additional advising support through out the sophomore year.
Fall and spring workshops.
Invitations to speakers and presentations.
