CAREER RESOURCES AND SERVICES

Alumni Services: Alumni are invited to utilize the Career Services office for further assistance with their career development.

Career Planning Seminar: A one credit class designed to assist students in self assessment and clarification of career goals as well as develop resume building and interview skills.

Career-Related Resources Literature: Available to all Mount Aloysius students.

Career Scope Assessment: CareerScope takes career and educational planning to a new level. A self-administered system that measures both aptitude and interest through valid and reliable assessment tasks. The results are instrumental in helping an individual begin the career or educational planning process.

Employer Internship Directory: Free College publication listing job information and contact persons of regional employers who will accept resumes from Mount Aloysius graduates.

I-99 Executive Internships: A competitive summer internship program that gives students an opportunity to gain practical, executive-level professional work experience.

Internet Access: Job searching, career exploration, and all career related information available.

Internship Information: Local, regional and national level internship information is provided for securing that hands on experience that employers seek in employees.

Job/Internship Fairs: Employers are invited annually to the campus to meet with students, schedule interviews, and receive resumes. Information about other off-campus job and internship fairs is also disseminated.

Mock Interviews: Video-taped one-on-one interview role play to build confidence and improve interview skills. By appointment only.

College Central: Students can upload resumes to the website, review job listings posted each month, view opportunities for internships and service learning, as well as announcements posted for campus and community events.

OccuBrowse+: OccuBrowse+ provides a complete resource of job descriptions and occupational information. It contains the most comprehensive and current data about jobs in the United States. The data in OccuBrowse+ comes from government sources. Years of research and ongoing data collection makes this the most comprehensive database of national occupations.

Online MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator): The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is the most widely used personality assessment in the world. With a proven record of reliability spanning more than 50 years, it offers a foundation for understanding individual differences and applying that understanding to the ways people think, communicate, and interact. Versatile and dependable, the MBTI tool sets the stage for lifelong learning and development.

The Perfect Interview: This multimedia interviewing software allows for students to conduct a "virtual" interview where the responses are recorded and played back to offer a self-critique. Students are also welcome to simply watch prerecorded vignettes that offer positive modeling answers and on-screen tutorial available for every type of interviewing question.
