Will I be able to complete all the required classes at the location in which I enroll?
All the upper-level courses that are required for the Bachelor’s degree will be offered at the location that you choose. If you need a lower-level course you have an option to take an on-line course or you could obtain it by enrolling on-campus.
How many credits do I need to earn to obtain the Bachelor’s degree?
You will need a total of 120 credits for the degree.
How long will it take me to complete the degree?
It takes approximately two to two and one half years depending on how many of your previous credits are transferable.
Can I find out what courses I'll need to obtain the degree before I enroll?
Yes! Prior to your enrollment, the CLL Program Coordinator will complete a degree audit sheet to show you which courses are transferable and which courses you will need to take.
How many nights per week will I need to attend class?
Classes meet one night per week and once you enter a degree completion cohort, your classes will meet on the same night of the week for the duration of the program.
Will I need to do any work outside of class?
Yes, you will have assignments that need to be completed when you are not attending class.
Can I get financial aid?
Students in the degree completion program are considered part-time students and can apply for financial aid. Mount Aloysius students are able to apply for Pell and PHEAA grants, Stafford loans and Veterans benefits.Our financial aid office will provide individual assistance to help you apply for these benefits.
Will my degree be granted by Mount Aloysius College?
Yes, your transcript and degree will be granted by Mount Aloysius College. Neither of them will indicate that you obtained your coursework through the degree completion program.
How many courses will I take at a time?
One course at a time. Each course last five to seven weeks with a one week break in between.
Will this be a year round class with the same night a week all year?
Yes, class will be on the same night each week. To obtain the degree in 2 to 2 ½ years, you will need to attend classes year round.
What payment plans are available?
Mount Aloysius College offers many different payment plans for the convenience of students. One option is to defer your tuition until the end of the semester. The billing office will assist students in making the right choice for paying tuition.
My employer reimburses me for tuition. Can I use this means to fund my education?
Yes! Mount Aloysius recognizes the tuition reimbursement plans of a number of area employers. Start by speaking with your employer's Human Resources officer. Obtain your company's tuition reimbursement policy and send it to the CLL office at the address listed on the right of this page. Once your employer's plan is approved, the CLL office will help arrange a tuition deferment plan that will allow you to defer the amount of tuition covered by your employer's plan till the end of the semester. You can download the College's tuition deferment plan here. There is a $50 fee per semester for participation in the tuition deferment program.
Will I have the same resources as an on-campus student?
Yes! All off-campus and on-line students are able to access all the information that on-campus students can access through our website. This includes the library, registration, college catalog and policies/procedures. You will also be assigned an Academic Advisor to provide individual guidance for any questions or assistance you may need.
What do I need to do to apply?
Fill out an application and send it to the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) with a $30.00 application fee. You will also need to request your official high school and college transcripts to be sent to CLL.
When can I get started?
As soon as we have all your application materials we can enroll you in classes.
