The relationship between the teacher and the student is best described as a collaborative effort where organization, communication, time, and effort of both parties are absolutely essential. Students are individuals with diverse experiences and learning styles, so I strive to use a variety of resources and methods of teaching to promote active learning. In all of my courses, I attempt to teach and assess students with respect to a multitude of skills, including memory for content, ability to think critically about the content, the capacity to apply the content to diverse situations, and research competence.
