Medical Laboratory Technician at Mount Aloysius College is a science based program for students interested in a health career behind the scenes. This program of study is taught by qualified faculty members who have years of experience working in laboratory settings. Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) courses are also taught in DuBois. They have video conferenced labs with Mount Aloysius that are extremely interactive for students. In these labs, students learn lab procedures and work with actual specimens.
Students' real world experience comes from a 25-week clinical rotation where they do actual lab testing under the guidance of their precept. It is very hands-on. Before graduating, students take a seminar to help prepare them to pass the Board of Registry certification examination. Medical Laboratory Technician careers are rewarding and open a door of opportunity for individuals.
Students will complete their clinical rotations at one of the following clinical affiliates:
DuBois Regional Medical Center, DuBois, PA
Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, PA
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, PA
