The certified professional coder specialization is a unique option for medical assistant students to pursue. The experienced faculty members of the medical assistant program educate students on the proper methods used for diagnosis codes and procedures for billing professional medical services to insurance companies. This knowledge, along with the medical assistant curriculum, leads Mount Aloysius students to numerous career opportunities in both the ICD-9 and CPT coding environments.
Our students are fully prepared to take the CPC National Certification Examination after graduation to become a certified professional coder.
