Master of Science in Community Counseling

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN COMMUNITY COUNSELING

The Master of Science in Community Counseling at Mount Aloysius College prepares students for national certification and professional licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.  Students learn the skills required for employment in a variety of settings, including private practice, mental health centers, drug/alcohol treatment facilities, correctional institutions, child care centers, and health care institutions.  Mount Aloysius College Community Counseling graduates are grounded in the values of hospitality, service, mercy and justice, making them leaders in the field of counseling and in the larger global community.

Entrance Requirements

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • An application with professional career/goal statement and a $30 fee.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Official transcript(s).
  • Current resume.
  • An undergraduate statistics course is required; an undergraduate research methods course is highly recommended.
  • A personal interview with the coordinator of the program. 
  • Students with an overall grade point average above a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale are NOT required to take the GRE exam.  The GRE score must be less than five years old at the time of application. Students who alreay hold an advance degree will be waived from the GRE exam.
