“The preprofessional degree prepares students to eventually obtain a professional degree at a graduate institution. The undergraduate courses provide students with a variety of classes putting an emphasis on the sciences and behavioral sciences. My experiences within this major have laid the foundation on my path to becoming a physical therapist. Along the way I have had the pleasure of learning from some great professors who take a genuine interest in my success. My advisor has also been a tremendous help providing guidance and information to keep me on track towards my professional aspirations.”

Mount Aloysius College has articulations with professional school for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, and Physician's Assistant programs. All programs have different requirements, but your advisor will work with you to make sure you are on track to meet your goals.

  • In some cases, taking classes at the Mount can reduce the time it takes you to earn your graduate degree. For example, articulations may offer 3+1, 3+2, or 3+3 options where you take classes for three years at the Mount and then transfer to your articulating school. After a year there you earn your Bachelor's degree from the Mount and then continue on to earn your professional degree. Some schools require a Bachelor's degree before you can begin, this is typically four years of undergraduate education.
  • The Mount offers small class sizes and attention to your skills and challenges in learning. We offer peer tutors, professional tutors, and many opportunities to meet one-on-one with your instructor. We take your success seriously!
  • Beyond the classroom, you are encouraged to engage in experiences and research that will prepare you for the real world. Sometimes students discover a new career choice when they shadow a professional or take part in a summer internship. There are also opportunities to synthesize faith with learning in service projects both locally and globally.

With your commitment to learning, and the Mount Aloysius network of faculty and staff dedicated to assisting you, you can achieve your goals!
