The Mount Aloysius Telehealth Certificate Program prepares individuals to become fluent in the delivery of health care using telehealth tools. Using foundations from information science, telecommunications, business and health care, students will study the role of telehealth applications in the delivery of health care. Following completion of the certificate program, learners are prepared to take leadership roles in activities related to the design, delivery, evaluation, administration, teaching or research of telehealth care. The entire program is online with the exception of a locally-arranged telehealth practicum and one weekend Telehealth Immersion conducted onsite in Western Pennsylvania, USA, at Mount Aloysius College.
The Certificate Program is designed for students and professionals in Nursing, Allied Health, Administrative and Clinical fields in healthcare. Students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at Mount Aloysius College must meet the following requirements: a) successful completion of a minimum of 60 college credits, and have b) permission of their advisor and the Program Coordinator. Licensed practitioners (RN's and others) who are ready to take online courses may register with a) proof of licensure and/or certification in a health-related field and b) permission of the Program Coordinator. Post-baccalaureate individuals with an interest in telehealth may register after a) completing the online self-assessment tool (available on the Mount Aloysius College website) and b) obtaining permission of the Program Coordinator.
