TUITION PAYMENT/FINANCIAL AID
Students may be eligible for financial aid for Summer sessions depending on their enrollment status, eligibility and the availability of financial aid funds. Mount Aloysius College offers the following sources of financial aid for Summer sessions:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Work-Study
- Federal Stafford Loans
- Alternative Loans
Students wishing to apply for financial aid for Summer Sessions must complete the current year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form must be on file to determine Federal Pell Grant eligibility and to process a Federal Stafford Loan. In addition, any student wishing to receive any type of financial aid must be matriculated into a degree program and students are asked to sign up for all classes for Summer Sessions before a determination can be made regarding their aid eligibility. All students wishing to apply for a Federal Stafford loan for Summer Sessions must be enrolled for at least 6 credits for the entire summer and complete a "Summer Loan Request" form at the Financial Aid Office. A Master Promissory Note (MPN) must also be on file at their lending institution. Student loans will not be processed without the "Summer Loan Request" form on file. Note: The amount borrowed from the Summer Sessions takes away from the total amount that can be borrowed from the upcoming Fall/Spring semesters. Please refer to the College catalog for additional financial aid information.
EMPLOYER BILLING
A letter of authorization (which includes a billing address, phone number, signature, and guaranteed dollar amount) must be submitted at the time of registration if your employer is going to pay your tuition directly to the College without contingencies for grades. If your employer reimburses you for the course or makes payments contingent upon a certain grade, we require full payment at the time of registration. Students who are employees of companies that provide tuition reimbursement may opt to participate in the College's Tuition Deferment Plan (see section on Payment Plan below) in order to minimize out of pocket tuition expenses.
PAYMENT AND TUITION DEFERMENT PLANS
Mount Aloysius College offers payment plans to qualified students. The College also offers deferment plans to students whose employers provide tuition reimbursement to employees. For more information on these payment options, contact the College Controller's Office at (814) 886-6368.
COURSE CANCELLATIONS
The College may cancel a course that lacks sufficient enrollment. When a course is canceled, every effort is made to notify all registered students promptly. A refund is processed unless the student elects to transfer to another course or section.
ADDING or DROPPING A COURSE
If you wish to add a summer class after the initial registration, you are strongly encouraged to do so by the first day of class, and you must do so by the deadline listed in the summer session calendar You must drop a course (by completing an add/drop/withdrawal form) by the dates listed on the Summer Sessions calendar to avoid penalty to your grade. There is a $10 fee for each transaction. Call the Registrar's Office at 814-886-6343 immediately when you decide to drop the course. An official add/drop/withdrawal Form must be completed by the Registrar's Office to officially withdraw you from a course. Not attending classes does not constitute an official drop/withdrawal; you will be responsible for all charges and may earn a failing grade.
*NOTE: If you drop a class at anytime during the Summer Sessions your financial aid may change. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at 814-886-6357 before you drop a course to see how it will affect your financial aid.

LIBRARY
The Library at Mount Aloysius College is a modern 31,000 square-foot facility that was opened in 1995. The collections provide users with access to over 100,000 bound volumes, over 10,000 current print and electronic journal subscriptions, and over 10,000 audio-visual items and microforms. The facility includes a state-of-the-art computer lab (Buhl Computer Lab), Law Library, classroom, group study rooms, the Ecumenical Studies Collection, and the Information Technology Center with audio-visual and microform viewing areas.
The Library provides access to its collections through Mountlink, an online catalog. To borrow books that are not available in Mountlink patrons can use E-ZBorrow, a user-initiated statewide borrowing program for requesting books from other libraries. Database access is provided through the Mount Aloysius College webpage by following the link to Library Databases. Additional access to the collections of other libraries is provided through AccessPA, indirectly through the library's interlibrary loan program, and through memberships in regional and national resource-sharing consortia, such as PALINET, PALCI and OCLC. The Library has a high-speed wireless Internet connection available at public terminals and throughout the facility. As part of the Perkins Program the Library circulates wireless laptop computers to current registered students.
The Library staff takes an active role in the instructional and research programs of the College, assisting students in the effective use of available resources. Through reference service and in-class bibliographic instruction, professional librarians assist students in developing and refining the information literacy skills necessary for academic success and lifelong learning. The Ecumenical Studies Collection houses Pastor Gerald L. Myers' personal library of more than 16,500 books, audio-visual materials, pamphlets, and artifacts on theology, religion, philosophy, and related subjects. This collection has the potential to create sharing across denominations and religious traditions.
