| Game Notes: | HUNTINGDON—Juniata College defeated Mount Aloysius 80-62 in the championship game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead. They shot 6-12 from three-point distance, and led 43-32 at the break. Juniata’s solid outside shooting continued in the second half. They finished the game 9-18 on three-point field goals. Contrastingly, the normally sharp shooting Mounties went just 4-24 from long range, and committed 22 turnovers in the loss. “Juniata shot the ball superbly. We did a better job of not giving them as many clean looks in the second half, but we were hurting ourselves with our turnovers,” Mount Aloysius coach Lance Loya said. Demetrius Davis led Mount Aloysius with 12 points. He was the only Mount Aloysius player to score in double figures. Davis and Jeff Stem were named to the all-tournament team. Juniata was paced by Alex Raymond’s 19 points, including 3-6 from behind the arc. Mount Aloysius will return to action on Tuesday night, when they host Penn State-New Kensington. |
