Game Notes: WAYNESBURG- Led by a game-high 27 points from Lindsy Sammarco, the Mount Aloysius College women's basketball team won their second consecutive one-point game with a 65-64 victory on the road at Waynesburg University on Tuesday afternoon.

In another back-and-forth affair, the Mount was down by three with 1:29 to play. Teddi Burkett cut the deficit to one with a layup at the 1:09 mark, and Sammarco gave Mount Aloysius a 63-62 lead on another inside shot with 26 seconds left. Waynesburg scored on a layup by Paige Pearce with 12 seconds on the clock.

Lauryn Colmer became the hero this time around at the charity stripe as she drained two free throws with seven seconds to go. Waynesburg had three chances to win it but couldn't put it through as the Mount escaped with the victory.

Neither team opened up a double-digit lead at any point in the contest, as the Mounties led by as many as nine on a three-point shot courtesy of Becky Bard ten seconds into the second half.

The Mount defense held Waynesburg to 35.2% shooting, including just 2-for-16 from behind the arc.

Sammarco led the attack with 27 and a team-high three steals. Bard added 19 points while Burkett grabbed 11 rebounds.

Brittany Spencer paced Waynesburg with 23 points and 11 boards.

The Mount returns to action next Wednesday when it travels to Pitt-Greensburg for its AMCC opener.
