| Game Notes: | STEUBENVILLE- In a well-rounded team effort, the Mount Aloysius College women's basketball team got back on track with a convincing 71-54 win over Franciscan University on the road on Monday evening. Lindsy Sammarco poured in a game-high 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Alexis Restori contributed six assists and Teddi Burkett grabbed 11 boards. Becky Bard also finished in double figures with 11 points. The Mount jumped out to an early lead that it would never relinquish. Back-to-back threes from Olivia Rupp and Sammarco pushed the advantage to 15-5 just five minutes in. The lead expanded to 20 with 5:22 remaining on a Sammarco layup, and the visitors took a commanding 37-19 lead into the break. Another three-point shot from Rupp made it a 51-26 ballgame with 14:29 to play, and the lead would get as high as 29 after Ali Barto converted on a bucket with 7:27 on the clock. The Mount limited Franciscan to 30.6 percent shooting from the field. The Barons were led by 15 points and nine rebounds from Lacey Huck. Mount Aloysius returns to action for the second half of conference play when it hosts Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. |
