Game Notes: CRESSON- The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team got back on track with a crucial 70-60 victory over visiting PSU-Behrend on Saturday afternoon.

Behrend jumped on the home side early as the Nittany Lions led 9-2 four minutes into the contest. The Mount responded with an 11-4 run capped by a layup from Dameon Turner. Behrend once again took a slight edge and went into the locker room holding a 27-21 lead.

Behrend continued to control the pace in the second half and led 48-37 after a lay-in by Keith Wallace with 11:32 to go. However, the Mounties refused to go away and embarked on a 17-4 run to take a two-point lead on free throws by Turner with 3:55 remaining. Davario Barksdale came up big down the stretch as he scored six points in just over a minute.

Barksdale's final points provided a 64-56 advantage for the Mount with 1:23 to go, and the Mounties held on to defeat Behrend for the second time this season.

Thomas Tanner led the Mount in scoring with 16 points and six rebounds off the bench. Turner (14), Demetrius Davis (14) and Barksdale (10) also finished in double figures. Barksdale added eight boards and four assists.

With the win, the Mount finds itself in a four-way tie for first place at 9-3 in conference. Behrend, La Roche and Medaille are all 9-3, and Hilbert stands at 9-4 in a crowded race for first-round playoff byes.

The Mount returns to action on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. for another critical conference matchup against La Roche.
