|Game Notes:||Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius baseball team used two dominant pitching performances from Derrick Capiak and Christopher Nolan to defeat Penn State-Altoona 5-0 and 8-0 in an AMCC best-of-three playoff opener on Saturday afternoon.
With the series win, the Mount will face LaRoche next Thursday at PSU-Behrend.
Capiak was strong throughout Game 1 as he struck out 11 while allowing just two hits and a walk in a complete-game shutout. Nolan matched his shutout performance with a complete-game effort in Game 2 in which he allowed six hits.
The Mount scored one run in their first at-bat of game one when Aaron Kovach scored on a balk. The home side would add two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings. Ian Helsel hit a two-run homer in the fifth, and Connor Bowie also went deep for a two-run home run with one out in the sixth.

|Game Notes(DH):||In game two, the Mounties jumped all over Altoona with four runs in their first three at-bats. Luke Szymanski had two RBIs with a groundout in the first inning and a SAC fly in the third.
The Mounties doubled their 4-0 lead in the sixth inning. Helsel, Brock Gladfelter and Patrick Gully all recorded RBIs in the inning.
Kovach and Alexander Martin each finished game two 2-for-3 at the plate.
