|Game Notes:||Hamburg, NY - The Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker 3-2 in double overtime to Hilbert College on the road in their conference opener on Saturday afternoon.
The Mount got off to a fantastic start as Jorden Eutsey knocked in a shot off of a corner from Olivia Woodley to give the visitors a 1-0 lead just five minutes into the contest. Despite controlling much of the play in the first half, the Mount went into halftime tied 1-1 after Hilbert's Sarah Schmidt knocked one in from distance with ten minutes to play in the opening half.
The Mounties again took the lead in the 56th minute as Tracey Ecklund scored her first goal of the season after following in on a cross from Woodley. The Mounties were in control, but with seven minutes to play Hilbert scored to even things up and send the game into overtime.
Woodley and Shelby Anderson both had great chances in the opening overtime period but just missed goal. Hilbert's Jackie Morgan would end the contest in the beginning of the second OT period with a lofting shot from distance.
The Mount outshot Hilbert 21-13 and had a 7-1 corner kick advantage. Kristin James made five saves for Mount Aloysius, while Hilbert keeper Grace Adams kept her squad in the contest throughout with ten saves.
The Mount will be back in action on Tuesday with a home non-conference contest against Chatham University.
