Mount Aloysius 0, Hilbert 0

In the conference opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon, Mount Aloysius and Hilbert fought for 110 minutes before the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

In an even-sided battle throughout, both sides had their chances to find the back of the net. Freshman forward Megan Parker and sophomore midfielder Liz Josephson teamed up to put the Hilbert defense on their heels on a number of occasions. Midway through the second half, Parker beat the Hilbert defense, but her cross to a streaking Lara Appiah was just out of reach.

Parker put up 5 shots in regulation alone, and had a golden opportunity in the first overtime session that went just wide.

The backline of Nicole Schweinsberg, Tonya Bibby and Appiah, along with goalie Lauren Challingsworth, was up to the task all afternoon of limiting Hilbert on the offensive end. Challingsworth made 6 saves in regulation and went on to record her second shutout of the season in just her third collegiate start.
