CRESSON-- Mount Aloysius improved to 2-0 in AMCC play with a commanding 76-52 victory over defending conference champion Medaille on Saturday afternoon.
The Mount was led by a game-high 23 points from Jeff Stem and 15 points off the bench from Tanner Thomas.
Mount Aloysius created separation halfway through the opening period. In a three minute stretch that began with just under 13 minutes to play, the Mount went on a 14-2 run capped by a Kyle Baughman layup with 9:48 left. The home side didn't let up as it took a 49-34 lead into the break.
Medaille would get no closer in the second half at the Mount put together its best showing of the season to date. A jumper by Demetrius Davis with 5:37 left to play gave the Mount its biggest advantage of the game at 69-44 as the Mount rolled to victory.
Dameon Turner also finished in double figures for the Mount as he had 12 points and nine rebounds. Nolan Doyle and Baughman combined for 11 assists off the bench.
Jammal Coleman and Alex Baron recorded 10 points apiece to pace Medaille.
