Articulation Agreements

Articulations Agreements are formal, signed agreement between Mount Aloysius College and other college and universities that allow students clear pathways to either transfer to the College or to allow our students the opportunity to seamlessly continue on to graduate and professional programs.

The ultimate goal is to provide a seamless transition for students transferring from other institutions to the College by collaborating with them on general education and defined major pathways. This increases the number of courses that transfer directly into a Mount Aloysius major, helps students plan their courses, and reduces duplication.  The formal agreements assist students in completing their program of study in a timely manner and with the skills and credentials to enter the workforce as a successful Mount Aloysius College graduate.

Furthermore, our articulation agreements out of the institution with other colleges and universities allow our students the opportunity to apply for graduate and professional programs with the necessary prerequisite coursework completed for successful application to numerous medical and health related programs of study.

Mount Aloysius College has developed articulations for certain Students Occupationally and Academically Ready (SOAR) Programs of Study which are career and technical education programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). SOAR Programs of Study are considered by Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry to be High Priority Occupations, which means that they are in high demand because they require a high skill level. As a result, graduates of these programs are likely to earn higher than average wages.

High school students enrolled in SOAR programs can transfer college credits because of articulations between secondary schools and the College. Prospective students should contact the Office of Freshman Admissions to receive more information on the active SOAR Articulations and the credits that would be transferred after the completion of the program of study at the secondary school. Credits can only be transferred when the program of study is successfully completed in accordance to the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s guidelines.

The College’s efforts to establish articulation agreements are always ongoing.   The College is continuously developing new agreements and revising older versions.
