Mount Aloysius College Intramurals allow students the opportunity to enjoy athletic competitions without many of the traditional demands associated with other intercollegiate athletics. Intramurals also offer students an opportunity to make new friends and get to know their fellow classmates in a setting outside of the classroom.
Participation in intramurals is open to all Mount Aloysius students, faculty, alumni, and staff. If an interested participant is unable to form his or her own team, that person is always permitted to sign up on the "Free Agents" list, and the intramural director will help place him or her on a team.
Each year, a wide range of drop-in intramural activities are offered, including: softball, flag football, indoor soccer, hockey, and the always popular cardio-kickboxing. Dates and times of those events are posted in the Health and Fitness Center.
Additionally, students are able to compete for the intramural "MAC Cup." For this competition, teams accumulate points throughout year, depending on which place they finish in a particular event. (*Example: 1st Place=10 points, 2nd Place=8 points, 3rd Place=6 points, etc.) At the end of the academic year, the team that has accumulated the most points will be named the Mount Aloysius Intramural Champions, and will have their names immortalized on the "MAC Cup" trophy.
