Bibby Named Third Team All-Conference in Women's Soccer 11/7/2012

After an outstanding season, junior defender and team captain Tonya Bibby was selected to the AMCC All-Conference Third Team on Tuesday afternoon.

Bibby started all 16 games she appeared in this season at sweeper and center back and was instrumental in keeping the Mount close in all contests. She anchored the backline in shutouts against Valley Forge and Hilbert. She was instrumental in a 2-1 victory against Penn State-Altoona, the first time the Mount defeated the Nittany Lions in the team's tenth meeting. A game later, Bibby nearly helped lead an upset over conference champion PSU-Behrend as the Mount fell 3-2 in OT.

"Everyone in the MAC community knows our outgoing players, led by Tonya, have been terrific role models with their ability to endure some tough times in their careers. Her award is a tip of the cap to all six of our departing players," Head Coach Tyler Sheikh said. "Tonya will be sorely missed for both her play as one of the top defenders in conference and her tremendous leadership."

In her career, Bibby started in all 47 contests she appeared in over a three-year span. She will be graduating from the Mount's Physical Therapy program this year.
