Game Notes: Cleveland, OH – The Spartans of Case Western Reserve (9-7) took two from the Mounties on Saturday winning both games of the double header, 5-4 and 7-4.

Game one was deadlocked 4-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh before Spartans first baseman Brett Ossola hit a one-out bases loaded single through the left side of the infield bring around Sophomore Jamal Abed for the winning run. Joe Hribar got the loss for the Mounties, loading the bases in the bottom of the seventh, before Carter Lehman came in and gave up the RBI single. Kyle Rose continued his offensive onslaught this season with a 3-4 performance, scoring two and driving in one. He has started all 14 games for the Mounties this season and leads the team with a .438 batting average.

In the evening game, the Spartans put up three runs in the first and retained the lead the rest of the way. Matt Aungst was on the hill for the Mounties (4.1 innings, 9 hits, 7 runs, and 4 strikeouts) in the loss. Carter Lehman gave up 2 hits with 1 strikeout in relief. Mark Saxman went 2-3 from the plate with an RBI. Bryan Nolan continued to show his speed on the bases picking up his 13th stolen base on the season in 14 attempts (.928).

Mount Aloysius will travel to Shenandoah University on Monday (3/22), then open their conference play on Saturday traveling to Hilbert College.
