Game Notes: Bradford, PA - A series split with Pitt-Bradford (11-12, 5-5) has the Mount Aloysius (8-15, 5-3) baseball team sitting in a tie for second place in the AMCC mid-way through conference play.

Traveling to Pitt-Bradford the Mounties were looking to get back into their winning ways after dropping two at Penn State-Altoona and settled for a series split, 8-2 and 6-9.

Mounties #1 starter Mike Goddisart continued his stellar performance thus far this season earning the win in game one with a complete game effort. He allowed two runs on four hits while striking out five to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Trailing 2-1 in the top of the second the Mounties scored 3 runs in the top half curtsey of 2 errors by the Panthers and retained the lead the rest of the way.

Bryan Nolan hit his second home run of the season in a 3-4 effort at the plate with 2 RBI's and his 23rd stolen base of the season. Nolan is now 23 of 24 (.958) on stolen base attempts this season.

In game two Mount Aloysius jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the top half of the first with Aaron Kovach (2 RBI's), Mark Speece (RBI), Eli Traup (RBI) all driving in runs to start out the game. Mark Saxman gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the first to cut the lead to one. The Panthers would add one in the second to knot the game at 4 apiece.

Carter Lehman came in in relief for the Mounties and the Panthers batted around in the third to take the lead at 9-6. Neither team would score the rest of the way and the Panthers would hold on for the win to split the series.

Mounties second baseman Michael Claycomb suited up for the first time this season after having surgery to repair a broken finger during the off-season. Michael will add to the already defensively efficient Mounties squad with his play at second base. Mikey (as his teammates call him) had a .972 fielding percentage last season.

The Mounties finished up their road trip 1-3 but look to regain some momentum back at home this Tuesday against La Roche College for a 1:00pm double header.
