Game Notes: LANCASTER, PA - The Mount Aloysius college baseball team improved to 9-5 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Lancaster Bible College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

In game one, the Mount's Derrick Capiak earned the win on the mound as the sophomore threw a complete game allowing eight hits and two earned runs while striking out eight in a 3-2 victory.

The Mount hit the scoreboard in the top of the second as Jacob Stumpf walked and stole second. After advancing to third on a groundout, he scored on a passed ball to create a 1-0 lead.

The lead jumped to 3-0 in the third as Connor Bowie provided the big hit with a two-out double that drove in Aaron Kovach and Luke Szymanski.

Lancaster Bible got two back in the bottom of the fourth, but Capiak shut down the Chargers for the remainder of the game to help the Mount hold on to the win.

In game two, the Mount received another strong performance on the hill from Christopher Nolan and had contributions throughout the lineup in a 10-1 win.

Nolan went six innings on the hill, allowing seven hits and one run while improving to 3-0 on the season. He also struck out six Chargers.

Already up 4-0, the Mount expanded on their advantage with a six-run showing in the fourth inning. Ian Helsel and Aaron Kovach provided RBI hits, and Jacob Stumpf brought in two more with his second single of the inning.

Kovach went 3-for-5, while Stumpf and Szymanski each went 2-for-3 at the plate.
