| Game Notes: | Pittsburgh, PA - The Mount Aloysius college baseball team split a doubleheader with second-place LaRoche on Thursday afternoon on the road. After falling in game one 7-1, the Mounties responded with a 6-3 victory in game two. In game one, the Mount knotted things up at 1-1 in the top of the third as Patrick Gully scored after a LaRoche error. The Mounties had runners on second and third and one away after Gully scored, but failed to take the lead after back-to-back strikeouts. LaRoche then took the lead with two runs in their next at-bat, and opened up the game with a three-run sixth inning to take the 7-1 lead. In their last at-bat, the Mounties threatened with runners on second and third with no outs but couldn't convert. Gully went 3-for-3 and accounted for three of the Mount's five hits. Paul Rogerson took the loss on the mound, allowing seven earned runs over six innings. |
