| Game Notes: | Johnstown, PA - Led by an outstanding pitching performance from ace Derrick Capiak in game one and some timely hitting in game two, the Mount Aloysius baseball team defeated PSU-Altoona 4-0 and 6-5 in a conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at Point Stadium in Johnstown. The conference games were the first for both teams. In game one, Capiak allowed just one hit in the game. The sophomore also struck out nine in a dominating performance. Offensively, Aaron Kovach got things started for the Mount with a triple in the second inning. Two batters later, Jacob Stumpf brought in Kovach with a single up the middle. The Mount added a run in the third on an RBI single from Luke Szymanski, and Alexander Martin made it 4-0 with a single in the fourth that brought in two more. Capiak held the shutout the rest of the way. |

| Game Notes(DH): | In game two, the Mount got hits from seven different starters. In a 1-1 ballgame heading into the bottom of the third, Syzmanski drove in a run with a groundout and Ian Helsel scored on a passed ball to provide a 3-1 lead. In the fifth, the Mount added two more runs to make the score 6-2. Kovach drove in one with a single, and Syzmanski scored on an error by the Altoona catcher. Altoona threatened with 3 runs in their final two at-bats, but the Mount's Kyle Cameron recorded a strikeout with two on to end the game. The Mount improves to 11-5 overall and will be in conference action again on Saturday with a trip to D'Youville. The doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. |
