AARON PATALUNE

06-07 GO Patalune headshotAaron Patalune is committed to improving the playing ability of all members of the Mount Aloysius College golf team.

Currently a 2 hndicap, Patalune won the 2004 match play championship at Windber Country Club and finished as low amateur in the 2004 Tri-State PGA Titleist/Foot Joy Classic.  Patalune finished runner-up in both the 2007 match play and 2007 medal play club championships at Windber Country Club, and came in fifth at the 2007 Johnstown city golf championships.

He has qualified for five Greater Johnstown Golf Association championships and won the 2000 and 2007 team titles, and 1991 junior team title, while playing for Windber Country Club.

He has played in several U.S. Open qualifiers and numberous Western Pennsylvania Golf Association events.

Prior to coming to Mount Aloysius, Patalune was the golf coach at Portage Area High School.  In his four years with the Portage team, he molded a winless group of young golfers into one of the top squads in the conference.

Patalune was a four-time letterwinner in golf at Saint Francis University.  After earning a degree in accounting, he served for two years as an asssistant coach for the Red Flash's men's golf team.  He also holds an MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Patalune and his wife Lisa live in nearby Portage, PA, and celebrated the birth of their first child, daughter Bailey Allison, in June 2007.

National Honor Society Inducts New Members 04-11-2008
Mount Aloysius College recently held the annual Phi Theta Kappa and Delta Epsilon Sigma induction ceremony. A total of 21 students were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and 38 students were inducted into the Delta Epsilon Sigma honor society.

On Monday, April 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., Mount Aloysius College will hold a Groundbreaking ceremony for a new residence hall expected to be ready for occupancy in fall 2009.
Students to Participate in Service Learning Exposition 04-11-2008
On Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Academic Hall, Mount Aloysius College students will take part in a Service Learning Exposition to educate fellow students, faculty and staff about recent service learning projects they participated in.
Josip Mocnik, Library Director at Mount Aloysius, Earns Ph.D. in History 04-01-2008
Dr. Josip Mocnik, Library Director at Mount Aloysius College, will be awarded his Ph.D. in History from Bowling Green State University in May 2008. Dr. Mocnik’s goal is to be more engaged in teaching and he plans to teach courses on the history of American foreign relations and the history of Eastern Europe.
