| Game Notes: | ERIE—Mount Aloysius took over sole possession of first place in the A.M.C.C. with a 99-97 double-overtime win over Penn State-Behrend. A narrow 34-33 margin separated the teams at halftime, and the remainder of the contest would prove to be more of the same. Mount Aloysius senior Demetrius Davis hit a three-pointer with 4.7 second to go in regulation to send the game into the first overtime, and notch the score 80-80. It was Penn State’s Nick DeLisio who hit a three-pointer in the waning seconds to force double-overtime. A Dameon Turner rebound and put back to start the second overtime allowed Mount Aloysius to gain an advantage that it would not relinquish. Jeff Stem led Mount Aloysius with a game-high 31 points, including 5-11 from three-point distance. Davis added 24 points, and Turner chipped in 10 points. 6-11 Mount Aloysius freshman Johnathan LeGrande had nine points and 10 boards. He also had a key block in the final overtime period. Penn State-Behrend was topped by Russ Conley with 31 points and 13 rebounds. Mount Aloysius, now 6-1 on the season, will travel to La Roche College on Wednesday for their next contest. |
