| Game Notes: | CRESSON- The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team fell in an early hole it couldn't get out of and lost 94-78 to visiting La Roche in AMCC action on Wednesday evening. The visitors jumped out to early leads of 20-8 and 31-15. The Mounties cut the deficit to 10 on two Jeff Stem free throws with 6:35 to go in the opening half, but La Roche carried a 49-34 advantage into the break. A minute into the second half, La Roche's Derek Barber-Richards made a layup to create a 53-34 lead. The Mount responded with a 14-0 run over the next three and a half minutes that was capped by a Stem three-point shot at the 15:22 mark. A 16-7 run by La Roche brought the lead back up to 12 with 10:35 remaining, and the Mounties wouldn't get any closer down the stretch. Stem led the Mount with 20 points and Demetrius Davis added 16 with 7 rebounds. Clint Wagner dished a game-high seven assists. La Roche's Ryan Frantz had a career day with 31 points, including a 9-for-15 showing from three-point range. Lionel Perkins added 16 points to the cause. With the loss, the Mount falls into a three-way tie for third place with Medaille and Hilbert at 9-4. They are next in action when they travel to Hilbert for a critical showdown on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. |
