|Game Notes:||CRESSON- The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team struggled early and couldn't recover down the stretch as the Mounties fell 71-65 to Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday evening at home in AMCC action.
Pitt-Greensburg jumped out to a 22-10 lead with 11:43 remaning in the first half. The Mount cut the lead to three on an Aaron Patrick layup with 3:32 remaining, but Greensburg went on a 9-3 run to carry a six-point advantage into the half.
The visitors continued to hold the lead throughout the second half, though the Mount cut the deficit to two on three separate occasions in the final six minutes of play. With 4:45 to go, Jeff Stem converted a lay-in to make it a 57-55 ballgame in favor of Greensburg. The Mounties cut it to two again with 29 seconds remaining on a Demetrius Davis layup, but Greensburg hit its remaining free throws in the final seconds to seal the win.
Dameon Turner led the Mount with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Davis (14), Stem (12) and Tanner Thomas (10) also finished in double figures.
Brian Heinle led Greensburg with 18 points on the night.
The Mounties return to action on Saturday for a 3 p.m. start on the road against Medaille in a matchup of two of the top teams in conference.
