| Game Notes: | HAMBURG, NY - The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team fell on the road 86-79 to Hilbert on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action. Jeff Stem led the offensive attack for the Mount with 22 points and four assists. Dameon Turner had 15 points and nine rebounds, while Kyle Baughman mixed nine points, six rebounds and five assists off the bench. A back-and-forth first half saw the Mounties lead by seven on a Stem jumper plus the foul with 8:48 remaining, and the visitors led by as much as ten on a Nolan Doyle fastbreak lay-in with 5:26 on the clock. Hilbert responded with a 17-9 run to cut the deficit to two at half. Hilbert took partial control as the second half opened, and led by six on a Anthony Hodge layup with 14:09 left. The game was tied 63-63 after a John LeGrande tip-in with 7:43 remaining, but a 15-8 Hilbert run over the next five minutes allowed the home side to seize control and take the victory. Hodge had 24 points and Dan McFarland had 23 to pace Hilbert. They combined to shoot 20-for-25 from the free throw line. Jerame Owens notched 16 points and 12 rebounds. The Mount returns to play on Wednesday night for a road game against PSU-Altoona at 8 p.m. |
