| Game Notes: | ALTOONA- The Mount Aloysius men's basketball team fell on the road 72-69 to rival Penn State-Altoona in AMCC action on Wednesday evening. After being down double-digits at halftime and deep into the second half, the Mount fought back and tied things up with just over a minute to play on a Jeff Stem layup. With the scored tied at 68-68, Altoona's Michael Wigfield hit a jumper in the paint with 38 seconds to play. Stem was unsuccessful on a three-point try on the Mount's ensuing possession. After Altoona's Jonathan Ross hit two free throws with 11 seconds remaining to make it 72-68, the Mount's Demetrius Davis was fouled with four seconds left. He nailed the first free throw, but the Mount couldn't convert after Davario Barksdale grabbed an offensive rebound on the next free throw. The Mounties shot just 25-for-68 (36.8%) from the field while Altoona shot 50.9%, including 10-for-23 from three-point range. Davis led the Mount with 20 points and six rebounds. Dameon Turner recorded 10 points, six boards and four assists. Altoona, which had four players in double figures, was paced by Durant Harvin's 18 points. The Mount will look to get back on track with a 3 p.m. tipoff at home Saturday against Pitt-Bradford. |
