The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team was handed a 3-2 loss by visiting Penn College on Thursday afternoon. The Mounties came out strong and got on the scoreboard first in the 36th minute on a 35-yard blast off the dribble from freshman Daniel Oliveira. Oliveira received a pass from senior Luca Farina, dribbled twice left and sent in a shot to the top left corner of the net. The Mounties took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break. Penn College came out firing to start the second half of play and registered three goals in a twenty-minute span. Sophomore Austin Old knocked home a penalty kick in the 87th minute to cut the lead to 3-2, but the Mounties couldn't complete the comeback. Five freshman (Oliveira, Nathan Bain, Joey Moxey, Oshane Williams and Patrick Chea) all recorded 2 shots for Mount Aloysius. |
