| Game Notes: | Amherst, NY - The Mount Aloysius (12-6, 6-0) softball team continued their undefeated conference play with a sweep over D'Youville College on the road, 11-1 and 8-6. In game one Mounties pitcher Jessica Seasoltz continued her torrid pace, mowing down 14 batters over 6 innings for the victory. She allowed only 1 run on 5 hits. The Mounties scord 8 runs in the top of the sixth inning to blow open a 3-0 lead and cruise to the 11-1 victory. Thirteen Mount Aloyisus batters came to the plate in the inning. Jena Isenberg had a terrific first game at the plate going 4 for 4, with 1 double, and 2 runs scored. In the nightcap Mount Aloysius required extra innings to finish off D'Youville (3-11, 1-5). Both teams scored 3 runs in the seventh inning to deadlock the score at 6-6. Renee Schmidt reached on an error in the top of the eighth to drive in Jena Isenberg and than later scored herself to assure the 8-6 lead. D'Youville got a runner over to third in the bottom of the eighth but couldnt capitalize as Jess Seaslotz closed the door to pick up her fifth win of the week. The Mounites return home on Wednesday, April 6th (3pm start time) to take on Penn State-Altoona as they look to keep their undefeated conference play intact. |
