Game Notes: Hamburg, NY - The Mount Aloysius softball team won game one in mercy rule fashion against host Hilbert before losing game two in an AMCC doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

The Mounties bats were on fire in the opener as they recorded 15 hits while taking an 18-5 victory in five innings. The visitors knocked three home runs in a ten-run fourth inning. Lindsy Sammarco knocked a solo home run before Marissa Ayers went deep with a two-run shot. A few batters later, Kiersten Lorditch joined in with a three-run home run.

Jalisa Westover also went deep with a two-run home run in the first inning. Ayers finished 4-for-4 with four RBIs, and Brandie Mott was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Kelsey Ickes earned the win as she struck out nine in a five-inning effort.

Game Notes(DH): In game two, Hilbert took control with a 5-0 lead of its own after three innings en route to a 7-4 win.

The Mount responded with a four-run fourth inning. Sammarco, Danielle Hart, Westover and Ayers each had an RBI to cut the deficit to 5-4.

Hilbert scored two runs in its last at-bat in the sixth before the Mount went down 1-2-3 in the seventh inning.

Westover, Ayers, Roop and Mott all went 2-for-4 in game two. Shelby Kline was handed the loss.

The Mount is now 7-7 in AMCC action and 19-10 overall as they fight for a playoff spot. They have their last two AMCC doubleheaders this week as they host LaRoche on Wednesday and Medaille on Saturday.
