|Game Notes:||Altoona, PA - The Mount Aloysius softball team fell 4-3 in game one before bouncing back to take game two 6-5 against Penn State-Altoona in the conference openers for both teams on Thursday afternoon.
Game one was a pitcher's duel as the Mount's Kelsey Ickes and Altoona's Jackie Smith matched each on the mound. Neither side reached the scoreboard before heading into extra innings.
In the visiting eighth, the Mount received a huge lift as freshman Kaleigh Roop blasted a three-run home run to left center to make it 3-0.
However, Altoona rallied in their at-bat with five hits and four runs. With two outs and the scored tied at 3-3, Clarissa Keller singled to right field to bring in the winning run.

|Game Notes(DH):||In game two, the Mount scored all six of its runs in the third and fourth innings while building a 6-1 advantage.
Jalisa Westover provided the big knock in the third with a two-run home run to center field. Roop came up big with her second three-run home run of the day in the fourth inning with a blast to center that brought in Lindsy Sammarco and Emilee Gearhart.
Altoona cut the lead to 6-5, but Taylor Mansfield came on to shut the door with a two-inning save to preserve the win for starting pitcher Shelby Kline.
