Altoona, PA - The Mount Aloysius softball team lost its first game of the double-elimination AMCC tournament to #1 Penn State-Altoona on Friday afternoon by the score of 7-5.
The Mounties jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the game's first three innings. Jalisa Westover and Marissa Ayers had RBI singles in the first, and Lindsy Sammarco went deep with a two-run home run in the second inning. Westover then scored on a wild pitch in the third to make it 5-0 before Altoona rallied.
Altoona went into the bottom of the fifth still down 5-1 before rallying to score six runs in their next two at-bats to take the victory.
Mount Aloysius will now face PSU-Behrend tomorrow morning in an elimination game.
