In game 1, The Blue and Grey fell behind early but would answer with 6 unanswered runs to take the 6-1 win. In the 4th inning Jena Isenberg led off with a home run for Mount Aloysius to tie the game at 1. Whitney Giedroc would follow with a bunt single and then would advance on a passed ball and a wild pitch for the lady Mounties. Jess Walters would single home Whitney Giedroc to give Mount Aloysius the 1 run lead. Renee Schmidt would bring Jess Walters home for the Blue and Grey to give the Lady Mounties the 3-1 lead at the end of the 4th inning. In the 6th inning Renee Schmidt would post a triple to score Jena Isenberg and Carrie Shevock for Mount Aloysius. Krista Baker drove Renee Schmidt home with a single to give the Lady Mounties the 6-1 victory. Renee Schmidt let the Mount Aloysius charge going 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs. Jena Isenberg went 2 for 2 with an RBI for the Blue and Grey. Carrie Schevock was solid on the mound for the Lady Mounties giving up 1 run on 5 hits. Shevock recorded 5 strike outs in the win and improves to 8-1 on the year. Rachel Komarinski led St. Vincent going 1 for 3 with 1 RBI. In game 2, the Lady Mounties would strike first but let the lead slip away, 7-4. In the 1st inning Andie O'Neal was driven home by Jess Walter's single to give the Blue and Grey the advantage. In the 3rd inning the Lady Bearcats posted 4 runs on back to back doubles to take the lead, but Mount Aloysius would answer in the 4th inning. In the 4th inning Carrie Shevock tripled scoring Jess Walter to put the Lady Mounties within 2 runs of St. Vincent. St. Vincent would add 1 more run in the 5th inning to pull away from Mount Aloysius but the Lady Mounties would charge in the 6th inning. Whitney Giedroc tripled to score Jena Isenberg putting the Blue and Grey within 2 runs of the Lady Bearcats. St. Vincent added 1 more run in the 7th inning to take the win, 7-4. Team Captains, Jess Walters and Whitney Giedroc led Mount Aloysius going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI a piece. Carrie Shevock went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI for the Lady Mounties. Jess Walters had 5 strike outs but her record falls to 4-6 on the season for the Blue and Grey. Angel Dyle led the St. Vincent going 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Mount Aloysius stays 5 games over the 500 mark with a 12-7 record on the season. |
