PITTSBURGH—Four Mount Aloysius softball players received all-conference accolades.
Juniors Jalisa Westover and Lindsy Sammarco were both First Team selections.
Westover (Flinton, PA/Faith Tabernacle), the team’s starting centerfielder, led the A.M.C.C. in fielding percentage (1.000), hits (62) and RBI’s (33). She batted .443 on the year, which ranked her third in the conference.
Sammarco (Patton, PA/Bishop Carroll) was top of the conference in walks (27), runs (40), and on-base percentage (.532). She ranked sixth in batting average (.409) and started every game at third base.
Kelsey Ickes (Imler, PA/Claysburg-Kimmel) was a Second Team all-conference choice. The sophomore pitcher had the fifth best earned run average in the league (2.47), and was second in strikeouts (132) and innings pitched (127.2).
Outfielder Danielle Hart (State College, PA/State College) was named Third Team all-conference. Hart was the Lady Mounties’ starting left fielder and ranked second in the A.M.C.C. in runs (40) and third in hits (48).
Mount Aloysius finished the season at 26-13 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
