| Game Notes: | ALTOONA- The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team jumped all over host Penn State-Altoona in a 73-57 AMCC win on Wednesday evening. The Mount quickly led by 12 early on after a three-point shot from Haley Bender provided a 17-5 advantage with 12:45 to go in the first half. The lead reached 32-8 after Morgan Brosnihan nailed a jumper with 7:21 to play, and the Mounties took a 17-point lead into the half. The lead hovered around 20 for much of the second half as 10 Mount players hit the scoreboard in an all-around effort. Becky Bard led the way with a double-double as she recorded 18 points and 11 rebounds. Lindsy Sammarco also finished in double figures with 13 points and had five steals, while Alexis Restori contributed 12 points and five assists. Kaleigh Roop grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds off the bench. Tamara Thomas registered 16 points and 12 boards for Altoona, and Moira Corrigan had 19 rebounds. The Mount improves to 14-8 , 9-6 in AMCC play. They will face Pitt-Bradford at home Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. tipoff. |

| Sammarco Named AMCC Player of the Week...Again - January 22, 2013 For the second time this season, Mount Aloysius’ Lindsy Sammarco earned A.M.C.C. Player of the Week for women’s basketball. Sammarco averaged 23.7 points per game for the week for the Lady Mounties. She also recorded a 6 rebound and 3.3 assist average. The junior guard shot 51.9% from the floor and 90% from the free throw line. She poured in a season-high 29 points in a key Mount Aloysius conference victory over Pitt-Greensburg. Sammarco is a 2010 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School and is ranked second in the AMCC for points per game (18.0), sixth in assists per game (3.3), and is tied for fourth in free throw percentage (76.9%).
