| Game Notes: | CRESSON- The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team pulled away late and defeated visiting Franciscan 64-49 on Senior Night Wednesday evening. Prior to the game, the Mount honored departing seniors Alexis Tellish and Ashley Lechner. Tellish dropped in 12 points and grabbed five boards, while Lechner added three rebounds in the victory. Becky Bard led the Mount with 21 points, eight boards and four steals. Lindsy Sammarco had another solid all-around effort with 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals. The Barons hung tough early as the two teams traded the lead. The Mount maintained a slight 22-16 edge on a Sammarco jumper with 5:01 to play, and a layup from Bard with the clock winding down gave the home side a 31-23 advantage into the half. The Barons didn't go away into the second half as a Lauren Noce jump shot cut the lead to three halfway through. However, a 13-4 run by the Mounties over the next five minutes provided a 54-43 lead that the home team wouldn't relinquish. The Mount forced 22 turnovers in a solid defensive effort. Franciscan was paced by Helen Raines and Hannah Flannagan, who each had 12 points. The Mounties return to action Saturday for their regular season finale at D'Youville for a 1 p.m. tipoff. |

| Sammarco Named AMCC Player of the Week...Again - January 22, 2013 For the second time this season, Mount Aloysius’ Lindsy Sammarco earned A.M.C.C. Player of the Week for women’s basketball. Sammarco averaged 23.7 points per game for the week for the Lady Mounties. She also recorded a 6 rebound and 3.3 assist average. The junior guard shot 51.9% from the floor and 90% from the free throw line. She poured in a season-high 29 points in a key Mount Aloysius conference victory over Pitt-Greensburg. Sammarco is a 2010 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School and is ranked second in the AMCC for points per game (18.0), sixth in assists per game (3.3), and is tied for fourth in free throw percentage (76.9%).
