|Game Notes:||Cresson, PA - Despite controlling much of play and having more opportunities at goal, the Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team fell 3-2 to Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon.
The Mounties unleashed 23 shots and had numerous breakaway opportunities throughout. Towards the end of the first half, Olivia Woodley put the home side in front off a feed from Shelby Anderson 41 minutes into the game. Kristin James started the break towards goal before laying it off to Anderson, who found Woodley in the clear.
Harrisburg responded in the 53rd minute as Fay Ansary caught the Mountie defense off guard off of a free kick deflection and knocked in past Mountie keeper Zara Apakoh.
Ansary added another goal in the 70th minute, and one minute later Rachel Shetler drove in a goal from distance to make it 3-1 Harrisburg.
The Mount had numerous chances close to goal in the final 20 minutes. However, they only capitalized once on an Anderson breakaway with six minutes to play.
Harrisburg keeper Mackenzie Gates stopped 16 shots, while Apakoh recorded six saves.
The Mounties will be back in action on Wednesday with a home contest against Chatham, set to begin at 5 p.m.
