Mount Aloysius 2, Penn State-Altoona 1

The Mount Aloysius College women's soccer team scored a huge conference victory on Tuesday afternoon as they took down Penn State-Altoona 2-1 on their home field.

Freshman striker Megan Parker got things started for the Mounties. In the 15th minute, she got behind the Lion defense on a nicely placed through ball from midfielder Liz Josephson, and Parker slotted it past the Lion goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead.

The Lions responded with a goal 11 minutes later courtesy of Nicole Zambelli. However, the Mount found the lead once again as the first half wound down. Mackenzie Horne did the honors as she ripped a shot into the back of the net off of an assist from senior Pam Pride at the 42:34 mark.

The Mount defense of Horne, Tonya Bibby and Nicole Schweinsberg held strong in the second half of play and limited Penn State-Altoona to two shots in the period.

Parker recorded a team-high three shots for the Mounties, while goalie Lauren Challingsworth was strong in net and registered six saves.

The win was the first ever victory for the Mounties over Penn State-Altoona in the team's 10th meeting.
