Perkins Support Services are designed to provide support and educational enrichment to those enrolled in an Associate or Diploma Degree program of study. The services are funded by a federal grant administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Emphasis is placed on the career development and academic preparation to assist students, during their time of enrollment and beyond, in achieving success to obtain opportunities in a demanding and emerging workforce. Perkins staff works closely with various departments providing career, academic, vocational and financial services to meet the needs of the students. The grant supports professional positions such as Health Studies Tutor, a Nursing Tutor and a Writing Specialist.
Students whom may be experiencing financial, academic or social difficulties may visit the Coordinator to discuss available resources and guidance to ensure a successful college experience.
Professional tutors in Health Studies and Nursing are available to assist students with study skills and coursework preparation specific to their program of study. Tutors can provide both individual and group sessions.
