The Division of Health Studies at Mount Aloysius College offers an Associate Degree track in Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in cooperation with the DuBois Regional Medical Center (DRMC). The program prepares graduates for entry into the medical laboratory profession.

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory analyses which aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Graduates may find employment in hospital laboratories, physician's offices, private/reference laboratories, pharmaceutical companies or industrial laboratories.

Admission Requirements

  • An application with a $30 fee.
  • Official high school transcript or GED diploma.
  • Applicants will need a high school level Chemistry course with a "C" or better completed within the last five years.
  • Official college transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, if applicable.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Registration for the Accuplacer Exam, if applicable.
  • SAT or ACT college board scores. The ACT is offered monthly at Mount Aloysius College.

Students who have taken the SAT are required to have a minimum score of 1000 using the combined scores of critical reading and math only.  If a student falls below the 1000 combined score he or she will be required to take the Accuplacer exam.  Students who have not taken the SAT, will be required to take the Accuplacer exam.
