The Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Aloysius College is designed to help the working professional gain the expertise necessary to progress in his or her career. The program is designed to help both those students seeking the associate degree and for those students desiring only additional coursework in early childhood education in order to meet professional certification requirements.

Classes are held in the evenings in a central location in Altoona, PA. Online options for some courses are also available.

Admission Requirements

  1. An application with a $30 fee.
  2. Official high school transcript or GED diploma.
  3. Official college transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, if applicable.
  4. Official SAT scores.
  5. Accuplacer Exam, if applicable

Students who have taken the SAT are required to have a minimum score of 1000 using the combined scores of critical reading and math only. If a student falls below the 1000 combined score he or she will be required to take the Accuplacer exam.  Students who have not taken the SAT will be required to take the Accuplacer exam.

The Accuplacer Exam is administered at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center as well as Mount Aloysius College.
